Argus Cidery Makes a Comeback
The cidery closed due to financial and logistical difficulties from the COVID-19 pandemic. In the spring of 2022, the cidery resumed production under a new operational partnership with Thirsty Planet and has returned to shelves and tap walls across Austin after a 2+ year hiatus.
Equal Parts Acquires Brash Brewing (Houston)
Rumors have been swirling for months around who might acquire cult-favorite Brash Brewing in Houston. The Chronicle announced the brewery will be bought by the owners of Equal Parts Brewing and the original head brewer for Brash. The two breweries plan to continue to operate independently.
Bishop Cider Expanding Texas Footprint with Brewery Acquisitions
Bishop Cider currently owns the Cidercade in Austin. Story by the Dallas Observer: Bishop Cider is expanding operations in multiple arenas. According to a press release from May 23, the Dallas-based cidery has acquired Wild Acre Brewing in Fort Worth, Legal Draft Beer Co. in Arlington, and has secured several other properties across North Texas.
Juneteenth Beer Release
Pinthouse Pizza is releasing its second annual collaboration beer with artist Alannah Tiller in remembrance of Juneteenth. The Starlite Fruited Sour can release happens Sunday, June 19 featuring a pop-up shop by the artist, and live music.
Texas Craft Brewers Fest Tickets are On Sale Now
Tickets are on sale now for the Texas Craft Brewers Festival, the state’s largest beer event focused exclusively on Texas-brewed craft beer, returning to East Austin’s Fiesta Gardens on October 1, 2022.
Pink Boots Collaboration Beers Available Now
The Austin Chapter of Pink Boots Society has been out and about brewing collaboration beers with participating breweries using the Pink Boots Blend by Yakima Chief Hops. It will be another record year for Austin collaborations, so get out there and pick up the latest releases while you can!
