Craft Beer Marketing Awards Expands Global Judging Panel

The Craft Beer Marketing Awards started as a nationwide competition and the very first awards program in the U.S. to focus exclusively on retail beer marketing efforts and is now a global competition. The expanded global judge panel includes over 500 beverage and beer industry professionals worldwide in over 24 countries, making the CBMAS the largest awards program of its kind in the world. Per the press release, well-known Judges who have returned or joined include Ralph Steadman, David Carson, Tara Nurin, Zane Lamprey, Jon Contino, Matt Furman, Harry Schuhmacher, Megan Stone, and Keith Villa, among others. New this year, CraftBeerAustin.com owner Pam Catoe and contributor Ruvani de Silva join the judging panel. “I’ve watched the Craft Beer Marketing Awards rise so quickly to prominence and am honored to participate as a judge alongside top contributors from the beer community,” said Tara Nurin, Independent Beer/Spirits Journalist and Author, “As a female writer in the beer world, I appreciate that the CBMAS recognizes the achievements of creative and influential women.”

Founded in 2019, the CBMAS is the only global awards competition to recognize and celebrate the importance of craft beer marketing and design as a key to success in this highly competitive marketplace. With ever-increasing craft beer breweries, the need to be more creative in marketing efforts is becoming an ever increasingly important aspect of success in the brewing industry.

UPDATE: The CBMAS has extended its entry period for the 2022 awards to Valentines’ day due to the recent COVID Omicron surge.

With over 40 categories for beer, hard cider, hard seltzer, and mead, the global competition added a new category this year to represent brewery-produced ready-to-drink cocktails. And by popular demand, two new categories were added “Sustainability–Environmental Awareness” and “Human Rights”. As always, entries are welcome from anyone involved in marketing within the brewing industry.
