Mom & Pop Brewpub in Central Austin

The Brewtorium Brewery & Kitchen is a 4-year-old locally owned, community-focused brewpub. We produce elevated pub fare and traditional beer styles in a high volume atmosphere with a scratch-made approach. We are looking for a highly organized, communicative and goal-oriented Front of House Manager to oversee the daily operations of the guest-facing side of our business and help us take our operation to the next level. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a “whole house” mentality.

The FOH Manager will work closely with the owners, general manager & staff members to hone and execute standard operating procedures that will ensure both daily & long-term success. The ideal candidate will be a firm but a compassionate communicator with a passion for quality and customer service. A love and knowledge of craft beer & scratch food are a must.

● Familiarity with Google docs, Toast POS, 7Shifts (or similar scheduling
software) and Slack (or other internal communications software)
● 3+ years of restaurant/bar management experience
● A positive attitude

● Oversee guest-facing service and provide support & guidance for all FOH
staff throughout service

● Support the FOH staff in adhering to new and established operating

● Help hire & train new front of house staff (including bartenders, bar leads, food runners, bussers & barbacks)

● Maintain & update front of house training materials
● Refine and uphold proper onboarding procedures for new employees
● Actively engage with guests to gather feedback about their experience and
resolve any issues throughout service
● Help troubleshoot any maintenance issues that may arise during service,
including draft quality, kitchen equipment, etc.
● Motivate staff during busy shifts & large public events & step in as necessary
to help in any way possible
● Maintain downtime task list & delegate tasks during any slow times
● Assist the General Manager in writing the Front of House weekly schedule
● Maintain opening and closing procedure checklists for all FOH positions &
ensure procedures are followed
● Embody a Whole House mentality, working as well with chef & kitchen staff as
with the front of house staff
● Lead/participate in weekly meetings with lead bartenders to discuss any new
items, concerns, etc.
● Manage front of house operations during peak times (weekends and some
weekday dinner rush shifts) & stay in communication with kitchen leadership
throughout service
● Complete manager log during/after each management shift
● Work with brewery team & management to develop beer and sensory training
program for bar staff
● Mentor front of house staff, engage & gather their feedback to help ensure
positive staff experience
● Responsible for cash handling & end of day procedures most shifts
