Outside the City Limits Festival Returns to Vista Brewing October 28th

Fall weekends in Central Texas offer a cornucopia of outdoor events. Do you want to go to a concert? A farmer’s market? A brewery? The choices can be overwhelming. Vista Brewing is combining all three options into their Outside the City Limits Festival. OCL, happening Saturday, October 28th from 12-8 pm at the Driftwood brewery, is an alternative and antidote to a hectic Halloween weekend.

Music and Shopping

The brewery’s solar-powered main stage will feature six bands playing Americana, funk, blues, rock, indie folk, bluegrass, and country. Local acts je’Texas, Paige Plaisance and & the Yeah You Right Boys, Restos, Big Wy’s Brass Band, The Tiarras, and Harvest Thieves will have sets from 1 pm to 8 pm on two stages.

The Outside the City Limits festivities have significantly more than just music. The rest of Vista’s 21-acre property will host a range of local vendors and non-profits. For shopping, check out the artisan market curated by Hue Marketplace. To learn more about solar power, visit the Yotta Energy stand and check out their mobile solar trailer, which will power one of the stages.

Food and Drink

With such a wide range of outdoor activities, Outside the City Limits festival-goers should expect to work up a thirst. Fortunately, Vista will be serving their own beers at the “Vista rolling bar,” a 1976 International Scout with six taps.  In addition, Vista Grill will be serving their full farm-to-table menu, which features ingredients grown on the property. Dripping Springs’ Flight Ice Creams will be scooping dessert (including an ice cream made with Vista’s beer). Leashed dogs will also be able to get a drink at the Divine Canines Watering Hole. Owners can also learn more about Divine Canines from the therapy dog-training charity’s ambassadors onsite.
