Well, the obvious thing to start with here is that The Bruery is coming to Texas. Yes, this will also be in Austin and not just DFW (like Funkwerks, New Holland, AleSmith, etc). I have no real idea when it will show up as it still has to get label approvals to go through, so likely still at least a month out.
Next, I want to call out Abita on something. How do you make a beer called Shotgun Double IPA and put it in a bottle? Why would you not put that in a shotgunnable format of a can? I feel like you missed out on so much potential there.
Finally, Ballast Point is continuing releasing beers with fruits or other additions to their core lineup. If you have been going through these for the last couple of weeks, you would have noticed a lot of their base beers being approved again with things like pineapples, mangoes, peppermint, ginger, and now, watermelon. I am guessing this will be a new trend over the next year for a lot of breweries. Basically, make a solid beer and then throw different variations of fruit into it.
