TABC Label and Brewery Approvals

In this week’s TABC label and brewery approvals, AleSmith Brewing showed up. I, for one, cannot wait to have Speedway Stout on shelves in Texas. It is one of the best coffee stouts available (at least in the shelf beer category).

Along with AleSmith, there are a couple of new breweries getting their first label approvals. Division (out of Arlington) and Back Pew (out of the Houston area) received their first label approvals for kegs.

Then there are the more interesting beers on the list. One of which comes from Alamo, with a Christmas IPA. I do not know what that quite means, but I would be willing to give it a shot. And Brazos Valley is canning a Tres Leches Stout called Big Spoon. Along with those two, Revolver is putting out a bunch of beers that are barrel aged.

Overall, there are some good beers here.

On a side note, if you want to check out one of Austin’s newest breweries, 4th Tap is having their grand opening on November 7th (along with the Pinthouse Pizza’s 3rd Anniversary and DraughtHouse’s 47th Anniversary). I recommend starting at 4th Tap then making your way down to Burnet, afterwards to the other two. It should be a great weekend. Unless you are in San Antonio, in which case I highly recommend La Muerta Day at Freetail (and the usually insane bottle shares that happen before the bottle release).
