The Pitch Opens in Northeast Austin

The Pitch, a community sports, entertainment, and food hospitality venue opens today in Northeast Austin as part of the Parmer Pond District adjacent to the new Austin FC St. David’s Performance Center promoting “food, fun, and fútbol.” The complex includes a 1,200 seat stadium with multiple food and beverage options close to the Austin FC practice facility and will serve as “a place for fans to gather in support of their Club, watch an Austin FC Academy match, and grow Austin’s soccer community.” per the press release.

“The vision behind The Pitch at the Parmer Pond District is to be a first-of-its-kind sport, dining, and entertainment destination,” Dave Greeley, president of Team Orbis and project lead for The Pitch, said. “This will be an unmatched experience for Parmer Austin tenants, Austin FC and club supporters, and the community. With its location adjacent to the St. David’s Performance Center, The Pitch is a venue that does not exist in Major League Soccer because it offers a unique opportunity to create social experiences aligned with Austin FC, Academy matches, and in support of this community’s burgeoning soccer culture.”

The Pitch consists of a series of multi-level, customized shipping containers designed by Mark Odom Studio and a 1,200-seat stadium and artificial surface soccer pitch called Parmer Field designed by STG Design. Complementing the food venues, outdoor spaces, and intimate performance areas, an event center overlooking Parmer Pond, also designed by STG Design, provides an added amenity for Parmer Austin tenants.

Offerings include Ranger Burger, a burger bar featuring locally sourced Wagyu beef from Ranger Cattle in east Austin; Ga Roti, a Vietnamese rotisserie chicken concept with healthy bowls and Bahn mi sandwiches; Taco Flats, the Austin institution featuring fresh, Mexico City-style tacos; Sand Bar, a beach bar alongside onsite sand volleyball courts with frozen tropical drinks; Coffee Club, a bakery and coffee concept; and a selection of local beer and craft cocktails at the Corner Kick Bar.
