New to Austin, Twisted Texas Tours “show off the wild sides of Austin that make Texas’ capital city one of the funkiest towns in the south.”

We got to come along for the ride on a recent Live Music & Brewery Tour, and here’s what happened.

Departing from Waller Creek Pub House, everyone had a chance to grab a bite to eat and start off the afternoon with a wide selection of pre-tour beers. Amber, our friendly tour guide, then corralled our crew aboard the bus to begin the journey.

Local band Law by the Gun serenaded the tour-goers with crowd-pleasing covers ranging from 90s alt rock to country. Bandmate Michael told us how they got into playing their tunes on a moving vehicle: “We thought it was crazy, so we had to see it for ourselves!”

Our first stop on the tour was Austin Beer Works, where we got to sample their Super Awesome Helles Lager, that had just won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival. The tour includes flights at each of the breweries visited, so we got to sample several other brews as well.

Then we visited Friends & Allies, and enjoyed our flight with a bowl of Texas Chili Queens’ chili.

After the last brewery, we posed for a group shot to commemorate the tour. We hope you get a chance to join an upcoming tour and have as much fun as we did!
