10Best | Beer Gardens
Updated April 2025
Drinking a beer outside with friends is one of the great joys in life. Central Texas has some amazing beer gardens. Here are our ratings for the 10 Best Austin (and Austin Area) Beer Gardens. Not limited to breweries, this list is inclusive of some of our favorite outdoor beer bars as well.

| Beer Garden | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 12 Fox | Large, rustic space with plenty of parking and shade. Great for events, which they host frequently. | 4700 W Fitzhugh Rd |
| ABGB | Beer Garden is in the name! Great food, award winning beer. That train can be annoying but the location is great and sort of tucked away behind Lamar in South Austin. | 1305 W Oltorf |
| Bangers | Over 200 taps! Frequent live music, crazy fun events and food. It's a must visit before it becomes another Rainey casualty. | 79 Rainey St |
| Cosmic | Maybe the most interesting garden on the list. Great food trucks, water feature and garden spots that are professional botanical garden worthy. | 121 Pickle Rd |
| Ghost Note Brewing | Ghost Note is one of the more unique beer gardens. They are primarily an outdoor space and you order from an open air, covered venue. The grounds looks like a wedding venue with its wide open views and ample room for music acts or hanging out or really anything you might want to do outside. | 23663 Ranch Road 12 |
| Jester King | Obviously Jester King was going to make this list with their sprawling estate and amazing event spaces and views. You can even stay on site. | 13187 Fitzhugh Rd |
| Live Oak | They host fun well shaded parties with an active fire pit. 13 hole disc golf course onsite as well. I am always surprised how much space there really is at Live Oak. | 1615 Crozier Ln |
| Real Ale | Sprawling acreage that hosts the single best anniversary party in Central TX. It's a trek, but also a requirement at least once a year. | 2250 US-281 |
| Roughhouse Brewing | Roughhouse boast an amazing 2-story taproom with a huge and upgraded outdoor space featuring fire pits, games and a stage. Of course, they also have the infamous beer cave on the grounds. | 680 Oakwood Loop |
| Vista | This is the quintessential destination brewery. It's an extraordinarily inviting outdoor space surrounded by beautiful walking trails and views. Great beer and great people as well. | 13551 FM150 W |
