Adelbert’s Brewery Announces Closure

Located at 2314 Rutland Drive, Suite #100 Austin, Texas

Adelbert’s Brewery has been a North Austin mainstay since opening its doors in 2011. Scott Hovey started Adelbert’s brewery as a tribute to his brother George Adelbert “Del” Hovey, who was a world traveler, naming its mainstay beers after one of Del’s unique and entertaining traveling experiences. The brewery recently rebranded and modernized its logo which plays on the kit colors of FC Austin.

Unfortunately, due to the sale of the building, they will be closing permanently at the end of October. They are not seeking a new location.

The Burnet Road Corridor has been in the spotlight for developers for several years. According to KXAN and the Austin Business Journal, there are at least six projects in the works, including Verde Square and Arena Tower, “Adding a $260 million pro soccer stadium to the neighborhood is expected to accelerate the area’s transformation — which is raising some worries about the disappearance of industrial space in a city that is attracting tons of new businesses.”
