Troy Aikman’s EIGHT Secures a Top Draft Pick with Seasoned Pro David Reny

In a move that signals their ambition to challenge the major brewing conglomerates and emerge as the ‘next great American beer,’ Troy Aikman is proud to announce the appointment of industry veteran David Reny as Chief Commercial Officer of EIGHT Brewing. EIGHT Brewing is the company responsible for producing and marketing Aikman’s EIGHT Elite Light Lager.

With nearly three decades of experience working with industry giants like EJ Gallo, Miller-Coors Brewing, Mast-Jägermeister, and a successful venture outside of the beverage alcohol sector, David Reny is well-equipped to drive EIGHT Brewing’s vision. Reny’s most recent achievement involved launching The Yuengling Company in Texas, which quickly rose to 1 million cases in its first year in the Dallas Fort Worth area alone, before expanding into Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri.

Troy Aikman, a legend on and off the football field, recognizes the importance of building a formidable team to achieve success. EIGHT Brewing made its debut in early 2022, following two years of development and refinement of the EIGHT Elite Light Lager formula and brewing process. The brand achieved impressive success, becoming the fastest independent beer launch in Texas history and the 8th largest growth brand nationally for the year, despite only being distributed within Texas.

In its second summer of 2023, EIGHT Brewing continued to build momentum, expanding its distribution, rate-of-sale, and market share in its segment. David Reny is excited about the opportunity, stating, “Even prior to the events of this summer, the opportunity to build a true challenger brand in super-premium light beer has never been greater.
