Batch Craft Beer & Kolaches To Open In East Austin on Friday, August 11th, 2017

Brothers Noah & Josh Lit and Pastry Chef Jasmine Jones Bring Artisan Kolaches, Coffee and an Expansive Craft Beer Selection to Manor Road

AUSTIN, TEXAS (August 10, 2017) – Brothers Noah and Josh Lit are excited to announce that Batch Craft Beer & Kolaches, a family-owned and operated kolache bakery, taproom, and retail craft beer shop, is set to open in East Austin on August 11 at 12:00 p.m. Housed in a renovated stone ranch house on Manor Road, Batch will debut with its signature kolache menu featuring Micklethwait Craft Meats and seasonal fruit, along with an expansive craft beer selection featuring over 400 offerings.

After a successful nine months of pop-ups at local breweries, the Lit brothers are excited to finally open their own space. “We started doing pop-ups at our favorite local breweries at the end of 2016 to make connections with our favorite brewers, show off our kolaches, and keep us sane during the long months of construction,” says Noah. “We sold out regularly, made friends, and started spreading the word about Batch. We can’t wait to show the city of Austin what we’ve been working on, and finally have customers in our own space!”

The menu at Batch, created by renowned pastry chef and owner of I Knead That Jasmine Jones, will feature eight signature kolaches with approximately four rotating specials that will change regularly. Highlights include varieties like Micklethwait Craft Meats Brisket, Pickle & Swiss; Micklethwait Craft Meats Pork Sausage & Cheese; Jalapeno & Cheese; and Chocolate Caramel Pecan.

As a bakery, coffee shop, beer garden, and bottle shop, Batch will offer twelve rotating selections on tap featuring the finest, freshest, and funkiest in local, national, and international beers, as well as grab-and-go. Customers can create their own six-packs from the selection of over 400 different bottles and cans from domestic and local breweries like Hops & Grain, Blue Owl, and Austin Beerworks, as well as selections from renowned breweries like Jolly Pumpkin, Prairie, Mikkeller, and Stillwater. Patrons also have the option to select a beer from the coolers, take it to the bar where it will be uncorked for a small fee, and sit and enjoy it with their kolache. A “no corkage happy hour” will take place Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., during which the small corkage fee is waived.

While maintaining the original character of the 1940’s Austin stone ranch house by letting the stone walls speak for themselves, interior designer Laura Lit has designed a space that will be equal parts daytime cafe and evening tavern with a lively bar scene. The 3,000-square-foot interior features café style tables, with the 2,000-square-foot exterior boasting a beer garden full of beautiful vintage-inspired barstools and beer garden picnic tables nestled under a canopy of 100-foot East Austin Elm trees.

In addition to delicious kolaches and carefully curated beer options, Batch will also offer an espresso and coffee program in partnership with Greater Goods Roasting, a locally based company that supports local community charities. Greater Goods created the La Strada Espresso blend, which is inspired by traditional European espresso, featuring bold and classic flavors. La Strada Espresso will be available exclusively at Batch.

Batch Craft Beer & Kolaches is located at 3220 Manor Road and will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, please visit http://www.batchatx.com and follow along via Instagram at @batchatx.
