Blue Owl Brewing Is for Sale, But Not Closing

Blue Owl Brewing, the city’s first all-sour beer brewery, is up for sale—but it’s not closing its doors. Since 2015, founders Jeff and Suzy have built a thriving brewery known for creative sour beers and, more recently, their Bob’s Fine Beers, a line of classic beer styles.

What’s happening:

  • Co-founders Jeff and Suzy are ready to move on and are looking for the right new owner.
  • The taproom remains open and fully operational with normal hours.
    • Wednesday-Thursday: 3 PM – 10 PM
    • Friday-Saturday: 12 PM – 10 PM
    • Sunday: 12 PM – 8 PM
  • The brewery is poised for success, with a new distributor and business bouncing back post-pandemic.

As Jeff and Suzy look toward their future, they are seeking the right person (or group) to take the reins of Blue Owl Brewing. For them, this is not a farewell but an exciting opportunity for someone new to step into a thriving business in Austin’s ever-growing craft beer industry. With its strong community ties, widespread distribution across Texas, and a lively taproom in Central Austin, Blue Owl is well-established and primed for continued success.
