Austin Breweries
This is a guest post by Brian Trivitt. Things change fast these days. Gone are the times when people worked at the same place for their entire career or there were just a small handful of television shows to choose from. Today, we are inundated with constant new choices and beer is certainly no exception. Thanks to smartphones and social media, we are literally just a swipe of a screen away from seeing what’s new. This is a guest post by J. Darris Mitchell. I showed up to the Brewtorium ready to rock. I’m an avid environmental volunteer and a good friend of mine (and go-to Hop Head, Tam T.) invited me out to a naturalist trivia night. With bragging rights about being a natural minded know-it-all, how could I say no? I walked into the Brewtorium to discover a spacious room, filled with communal style picnic tables. Think Pinthouse […]

Much has changed in the Craft Beer scene both in Austin and beyond in the last several years. When we moved to Austin in 2012, there were maybe 17 breweries and now in 2019 we are at or approaching 70. But that’s just Austin…other Texas cities such as Dallas and Houston have seen similar or higher growth. Much of that, along with an increase of out-of-state Breweries, is available to the Austin Craft Beer consumer. […]
Trying to get back into updating the TABC label and brewery approvals, so here are all of the label approvals for 2019 so far. This week’s TABC Label Approvals: K = Keg B = Large format bottle bb = 16oz format bottle b = Small format bottle c […]
This guest post is by Steve Duffy. Best Places to Drink Beer and Eat Pizza in Austin Much like the horse and carriage, the Captain and Tenille, and Will and Grace, our beloved elixir (that’s beer) goes together with pizza like no other. Legend has it that beer got its start when people steeped leftover bread in water. You had the grain, the yeast, add the water, throw in some herbs for flavor and BAM!, […]

It has been too long since I have posted the TABC label and brewery approvals. In fact, too long that the backlog is way too many to even include in one post. Everything on here is from over the last month. From there, I have been slowly putting them together from the August to November time frame that I will just put out in some later article.
