TABC Updates
The numbers are quite a bit lower this week than last week – which is to be expected with the holidays. I expect next week’s to be similar. With that said, 903 Brewers and Karbach Brewing both received approvals for new barrel aged bottles. 903, also, has announced distribution to the Austin area (with this bottle included). The base beer for this received a silver medal in this year’s GABF, so it is definitely one […]
Read MoreA lot of beers showed up this week. I figure I should get some of the standard questions out of the way that I always seem to be asked when Jester King shows up. Yes, they have sold this at the brewery some time back. No, they do not need label approval to sell beer to go from a brewpub. They only need label approval if it is going into distribution. No, this does not […]
Read MoreIn this week’s TABC label approvals there are a couple new ones from Cali breweries – Knee Deep and Helm’s have received their first label approvals. As for Texas breweries, this is the first approval from Wild Acre (out of Fort Worth) which looks to be going the bottling and kegging route. As for specific beers, the Firestone Walker Barrel Works beer sounds delicious as always. Breckenridge is also coming out with a whiskey barrel aged holiday beer. This […]
Read MoreAs expected, due to the short week last week, this week’s TABC label approvals are much shorter than normal. With that said, Real Ale looks to be coming out with a new seasonal can and Corpus is getting a brewery. This week’s TABC Label Approvals: K = Keg B = Large format bottle bb = 16oz format bottle b = Small format bottle c = Small format (12oz) can cc = 16oz format can C = Larger […]
Read MoreIn this week’s TABC label and brewery approvals, all of the Bourbon County beer received approval. Granted, it came in at the last minute, and we still only had Rare and BCBS on Black Friday, but all the rest are approved. We should see the rest of them show up at a later date (I am sure they will make the announcements so you will know when it happens). Onto more local craft beer, Rusty Barrel Brewing received […]
Read MoreIn this week’s TABC label and brewery approvals, not many things have been approved at all. This is actually quite a slow week. With that said, Firestone Walker XIX Anniversary was approved, which is always nice to see. Considering how long it takes to get most of the barrel aged bottles from them in Austin, there is no saying when it will show up on shelves. On the topic of delayed beers, it is sounding like Cantillon is […]
Read MoreIn this week’s TABC label and brewery approvals, we are seeing a lot more Cascade beers showing up. They will be through Favorite Brands as their distributor, which means that it should be a Texas wide release. Along with this, we have a first look at Dallas’ Noble Rey Brewing’s cans. For new breweries to approvals in Texas, Dead Beach Brewing, out of El Paso, has received their first label approval. I am taking that as a sign […]
Read MoreIn this week’s TABC label and brewery approvals, Alpine is back with some more 12 oz bottles. Their bombers have started showing up around Texas over the last month, but it looks like they will start sending in their smaller format bottles. Karbach, Four Corners and Lakewood are also bringing out more canned beer. Along with this, Lakewood also received approval for this year’s Bourbon Barrel Temptress. Southerleigh also looks to get into bottling. This will be […]
Read MoreIn this week’s TABC label and brewery approvals, AleSmith Brewing showed up. I, for one, cannot wait to have Speedway Stout on shelves in Texas. It is one of the best coffee stouts available (at least in the shelf beer category). Along with AleSmith, there are a couple of new breweries getting their first label approvals. Division (out of Arlington) and Back Pew (out of the Houston area) received their first label approvals for kegs. Then there are […]
Read MoreIn this week’s TABC label and brewery approvals, we have Live Oak Brewing being approved for their new location. It looks like they are one step closer to opening their new facility. It still sounds like it will likely be early next year before that will happen. Small Brewpub, out of Dallas, received their first label approvals. They have been making beer for some time, but this is the first that they have received label approval for. I […]
Read MoreHere are this week’s TABC label and brewery approvals. It has definitely been a slower week for brewery approvals, as nothing was approved. On the label front, there are a couple of intriguing labels. It looks like Strange Land Brewery will be bottling their Root Beer Porter. Spindle Tap, a new brewery about to open in Houston, has their first label approvals. Then there is Freetail Brewing who is getting ready for their La Muerta yearly release. This […]
Read MoreHere are this week’s TABC label and brewery approvals. We have couple of new Texas cans, some of the remaining Ninkasi, and Real Ale looks to be having a new beer coming out. Along with those, Bourbon County Proprietor’s bottle has received label approval. I am questioning if we will actually see this in Texas, but it could just be for festivals. Then there are definitely the winter and pumpkin beers starting to show up in […]
