REAL ALE PARTNERS WITH THE DRIPPING SPRINGS SKATE PARK INITIATIVE ON FIRST ANNUAL FUNDRAISER:
Why support this charity?
DSSP is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to bring a free, regional skate park to Dripping Springs, TX, about 25 minutes East of the brewery. The organization is comprised of parents, students, teachers, and community members who believe in the need for additional recreational opportunities for children outside of traditional sports. Together, they presented the need for a public skate park to city leadership back in 2017, and City Council unanimously approved the skate park proposal. As a result of these efforts, the City of Dripping Springs generously donated 1.5 acre tract of land in Founders Memorial Park for the skate park.
“For the 23 years that we’ve been brewing here in Blanco, we have done all we can to support the community through many different charities,” said Brad Farbstein, President of Real Ale. “When we met the DSSP folks and learned about their mission, we immediately wanted help. The response from the craft brewing community across the country has been amazing.”
When:
June 22nd, Real Ale Brewing Co. is hosting “Drop-In @ Real Ale,” the first annual fundraiser in collaboration with the Dripping Springs Skate Park Initiative. On Saturday, June 22, the fundraiser will culminate in a fun event for all ages at the brewery from 12-5pm. In addition to the silent auction with the one-of-a kind skateboard decks, this family friendly event will include skateboarding demonstrations, vendors, and music. Food will be available for purchase from Palm Frites, Bubba’s Brat Haus, Hoek’s Death Metal Pizza, Lick Honest Ice Creams & Greater Goods Coffee.
A New Beer Release for the event:
As an additional fundraising component, Real Ale brewed a beer on their 8 bbl pilot system called “Goofy Foot,” in collaboration with the DSSP committee. $1 from every pint of Goofy Foot, a Hazy IPA, will be donated back to the skate park. Retailers in Dripping Springs and surrounding areas have agreed to match that promotion.
Can not attend, but want to help?:
Then visit a Benefit Happy Hour, which will be held in the weeks leading up to the event at both Shady Llama and The Barbershop. You can also donate money or participate in the silent auction.
Silent Auction:
This silent auction will feature boards designed and created by local and national artists, plus dozens of craft breweries including Stone, Sierra Nevada, Jester King, Saint Arnold and more. The skateboards will be displayed in Real Ale’s new 120bbl brew house, in an art gallery setting. Anyone can place bids online once the silent auction begins on June 1. 100% of the auction proceeds will go to the Dripping Springs Skate Park fund.
