Meanwhile Brewing to Celebrate Third Anniversary

South Austin’s Meanwhile Brewing hit the ground running when they opened in October 2020. The brewery’s 3.7-acre facility was an instant hit with locals and beer tourists, and accolades for Meanwhile’s beers quickly followed. Three years later, Meanwhile is one of Austin’s most popular and award-winning breweries. To celebrate, the brewery will be hosting a four-day fete featuring specialty food items, live music, activities for all ages, and some new collaboration beers.

On Thursday, November 2nd, the festivities kick off with the release of two taproom-exclusive beers: a lager made with wine grapes in collaboration with local restaurant Lenoir and a triple IPA brewed with Dallas’ Celestial Beerworks. The new brews will be accompanied by two hours of live afrobeat music from Austin supergroup Hard Proof beginning at 8:30 PM.

The second day of Meanwhile’s celebration on Friday, November 3rd features six new beer releases. On the agenda are a smoked wheat beer, a lime honey gose, an aged farmhouse lager, a green tea sour, a rum-barrel aged fruited stout, and a bourbon-barrel aged dessert stout. Funk act Tomar & the FCs will provide the music.
The final day of festivities begins at 10am with Yoga in the Park, an hour of all-levels friendly yoga hosted by Hannah Charles. From 11 AM-2 PM, The Thinkery children’s museum will give kids a chance to create constellation birthday lanterns from used cans, in addition to the resumption of the Passport Vintage market from 12-5 PM. One last evening of music begins with Lady Dan at 7:30 PM, followed by Pelvis Wrestley at 8:45 PM.

Meanwhile will open at noon on Saturday, November 4th with even more happening. A maker’s market from Passport Vintage and onsite tattooing by Hayes Morrison of Holy Planet Tattoo and My B Tattoo’s Bree will pair with more beer and live music. The music kicks off at 3 PM with DJ Hollywood Jones, followed at 8:00 PM by Christian Bland & The Revelators, Otis the Destroyer at 9:15, and Night Beats at 10:30 PM.

In addition to the plethora of activities, performances, and brews, Meanwhile’s five partner food trucks will also serve some special menu items. Barbecue truck Distant Relatives will have a prime Texas beef and piri queso on a brioche bun and pizza truck Side Eye Pie will offer a truffle pizza. Taco truck Pueblo Viejo will serve Tacos de Trompo and sandwich truck Songbird plans to offer a salsa verde bacon burger with fermented chile, beer cheese, and onion straws. For dessert, ice cream truck Besame offers a S’mores-inspired Baked Alaska. All items will be offered until sold out.
