Since opening in late 2016, North America’s first surf park has offered “world-class surfing in the heart of Texas Hill Country,” but that’s not all. Along with its 2 lagoons, juice bar and restaurant, NLand Surf Park also serves up its own craft beer to thirsty surfers and visitors.

Head Brewer Todd Henry says his ultimate goal is for the beer at NLand to be just as world-class as the surfing. “Our goal is to make absolutely perfect beer. If it’s not perfect, it’s not on tap.”

These high standards are evident just by touring the impeccable brewhouse and its top-notch 20 barrel system. Todd and Assistant Brewer Thomas Hoy also filter and do step mashes on all of their beers, because “we really think it just makes a better beer.”

The brewery submitted a couple of their beers to this year’s World Beer Cup, in hopes that their high standards and hard work will help them bring home their first international awards this spring.

NLand’s current Tap Room lineup includes 5 ales and 5 light lagers, which are all perfectly refreshing after a surf lesson, and beer names like “Off-leash IPA” give a nod to NLand’s surfer theme, and dog-friendly patio.

On the patio overlooking the lagoons, visitors can enjoy watching the waves as they sip their beers. “It’s all great vibes out here,” Thomas says, as we take in the view from the Tap Room.

Ready to get your feet wet? NLand has a variety of events like yoga, crossfit, and silent discos, and some events include a discounted surf session.

If you’re not a surfer, you can still enjoy the Tap Room, which is open to the public Tuesday – Sunday 12-8pm, and hosts a Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz on Wednesdays at 8pm (Tap Room open until 10pm on Wednesdays).
