TABC Label and Brewery Approvals Dec 29 2017

This will be the last label approval of the year, the TABC does not seem to be putting any new ones through this week. With that said, I will be compiling some stats/data regarding label approvals over this year in an article sometime in the near future. It is interesting to see the numbers of approvals that have gone through, formats, and who generally is putting all the approvals through. On this week’s, we do […]

TABC Label and Brewery Approvals Dec 20 2017

Seems like I have been running late on the TABC label and brewery approvals over the last couple of weeks. So, here is another two weeks worth of approvals. A couple things to note: – First Cigar City beer is TABC approved (made in Austin at Oskar Blues) – First Firestone Walker Barrelworks beer is approved – Hops & Grain can now sell beer to-go from their taproom This week’s TABC Label Approvals: K =

TABC Label and Brewery Approvals Sept 26 2017

Well, I missed another week. Not due to laziness this time, but just due to there only being 30 or so last week…and felt it would be better just to leave them for another week. With that said, we seem to have been overloaded with keg approvals from brewpubs this week. Braindead, St. Elmo, El Paso Brewing, along with a couple of newer places like Flying Man. We are also seeing the first can approvals

TABC Label and Brewery Approvals Aug 15 2017

It appears that the TABC has finally gotten their acts together (as far as label approvals go….everything else is still a mess). Hops & Grain received a couple of approvals within 48 hours and St. Elmo had a turnaround on one label of less than 24 hours. Compare this to the beginning of the year….where approvals were taking upwards of 40 days to receive. The good news? It is much easier for breweries to make

TABC Label and Brewery Approvals Aug 1 2017

Well, another Friday came and went without the weekly label releases being put up on Craft Beer Austin. I am sure at least one person noticed other than me. Simple reason – I was out of town yet again. With that said, due to a busy late week schedule as of late, we are going to move the label release article to Tuesdays. There are a couple of reasons for it, but most of which

TABC Label and Brewery Approvals July 21 2017

For this week’s TABC label approvals it looks like Spindletap may have plans for their Houston Haze to hit some level of distribution since they received approvals for those cans. Other than that, we have a new beer from Celis and the first approvals from Abilene’s Sockdolager. This week’s TABC Label Approvals: K = Keg B = Large format bottle bb = 16oz format bottle b = Small format bottle c = Small format (12oz)

TABC Label and Brewery Approvals May 19 2017

So many damn approvals this week. This has to to be up there with one of the most that I have seen show up in one week. With that said, a lot of them are just in kegs. We do have some new cans from places like HopFusion, Double Horn, and Bearded Fox. All relatively newcomers onto the scene for cans. This week’s TABC Label Approvals: K = Keg B = Large format bottle bb

TABC Label and Brewery Approvals Feb 10 2017

You may have noticed a three week gap since the last TABC label approval. It appeared that nothing was coming through for the longest time (which would not have surprised me considering who we are dealing with). But, alas, they showed up. All three weeks worth. So, this is probably the longest label approvals that I have done. Needless to say, there are a lot of new breweries on here (ETX, Bearded Fox, Good Neighbor,
