A long list this week for label approvals. I guess it makes up for the last two weeks of slow approvals? This week sees a shift from kegs (over last week) to a bunch of can approvals. There were over 20 can labels approved this week for various Texas and national breweries.

Now, we are also seeing the recent AB-InBev purchases of 10 Barrel and Elysian showing up on approvals. That is no real surprise, they were bound to show up at some point. Along with that, Budweiser, being the main sponsor of SXSW, got their SXSW can approved. Definitely keeping things independent there, SXSW!

On that note, please support groups like Open The Taps to help fight unfair laws that craft breweries are facing in Texas. Lawsuits by Cuvee Coffee against the TABC just to be allowed to sell Crowlers should not have to happen. The TABC brought 5 lawyers to the first hearing to fight it. For what purpose? It shows you that every unfair law will take a lot to bring down. Being able to buy beer directly from breweries would make the Texas beer industry much more competitive and allow breweries to actually make the money they deserve.

Brewery Approvals:

Note: I have only been putting new brewery approvals here – anything that is just getting re approved, I do not list. Along with this, any macro brewery that is approved, I do not put. An example of this would be things like a South Korean macro brewery.

(For TX breweries: B = Brewery, BP = Brewpub)

No brewery approvals this week.
