New Brewery The Stay Put Comes to Rainey Street

Part brewpub, part cocktail bar, The Stay Put opened its doors to the public on November 17th at 73 Rainey Street, the former location of G’Raj Mahal restaurant. Aiming to be the new watering hole in an already bustling nightlife district, The Stay Put features two bars, one indoors with an intimate cocktail setting and one relaxed outdoor dog-friendly bar and patio area.
Head Brewer Kevin Lindsay will oversee brewing operations on the 10 BBL state-of-the-art brewhouse with touch screen control panels and high efficiency temperature controls, serving up freshly brewed beer directly from the brite tanks. Lindsay has over a decade of brewing experience brewing award-winning beers at Wicked Weed Brewing and plans to serve up a wide range of beer styles “with influences from Czech, German, and Mexican style lagers that pay homage to those unique brewing traditions,” per the press release. The bar will feature 16 taps consisting of Stay Put house brews, guest brews as well as draft cocktails.

Overseeing the brewery will be General Manager Amanda Carto, who brings over a decade of bar management expertise from popular spots Half Step and Nickel City, “The Stay Put is focused on becoming a consistent cornerstone in a fast-changing Austin. Our team consists of dedicated ambassadors to Austin. Most of our crew are Rainey Street veterans or born and raised in Austin who have seen the street develop over time who know how to serve up Texas hospitality to locals and visitors alike. We’re beyond excited to grow The Stay Put into a new gem on Rainey Street”
