NXNW’s two-day Oktoberfest celebration is more than just a party. It is also a chance for revelers to learn about and raise funds for four local nonprofits: Saturday, the folks from Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas will be alongside Oncology Massage Alliance, and on Sunday, Therapy Pet Pals of Texas and Central Texas Dachshund Rescue will partake in the dog costume contests. All four will benefit from the suggested $2 entry donation.
During the weekend festival, Chef George Powell will prepare German
bratwurst, homemade sauerkraut, fresh red cabbage, pretzels, and Bavarian
cobblers. NXNW also will brew onsite a special Oktoberfest beer to
complement the feast.
Live music from high-energy polka band Terry Cavanagh and the Alpine
Express, along with Oma and the Oompahs and The TubaMeisters, will bring
the authenticity of Oktoberfest to Austin.
There will be fun activities for the whole family. Festivities include: bounce
houses, face painting, Nate the Great Balloon Artist and a bratwurst eating

So piece by piece and part by part over a nine month period, we built the system that we are currently brewing on. Come take a look – it’s pretty cool what a few dudes, nine months and a bunch of beer can do! Kid & Dog Friendly. Live Music & Food Trucks.

Tapping – Upslope Pumpkin Ale @The Ginger Man
What happens when a local brewer and a local farmer drink a pint together? Upslope Brewing founder Matt Cutter explains, “Mike Munson from Munson Farms came to me in 2009 and asked if we were interested in brewing a pumpkin beer with his organic baby bear pumpkins grown in Boulder County. Malt and hops come from the field. Adding pumpkins to this brew makes this truly a local farm-to-brewhouse collaboration.” So come by and toast the farmer, toast the brewer, and toast the season with this lovely pumpkin ale.
