Austin Beer Wk 2014 imageAustin Beer Week 2014 – Saturday October 25th Events.

There are several events going on today for Austin Beer Week:

11:30 AM

NXNW Oktoberfest @NXNW

NXNW’s two-day Oktoberfest celebration is more than just a party. It is also a chance for revelers to learn about and raise funds for four local nonprofits: Saturday, the folks from Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas will be alongside Oncology Massage Alliance, and on Sunday, Therapy Pet Pals of Texas and Central Texas Dachshund Rescue will partake in the dog costume contests. All four will benefit from the suggested $2 entry donation.

During the weekend festival, Chef George Powell will prepare German
bratwurst, homemade sauerkraut, fresh red cabbage, pretzels, and Bavarian
cobblers. NXNW also will brew onsite a special Oktoberfest beer to
complement the feast.

Live music from high-energy polka band Terry Cavanagh and the Alpine
Express, along with Oma and the Oompahs and The TubaMeisters, will bring
the authenticity of Oktoberfest to Austin.

There will be fun activities for the whole family. Festivities include: bounce
houses, face painting, Nate the Great Balloon Artist and a bratwurst eating
contest will take place Saturday evening. A wiener dog costume contest and an
all breed dog costume contest will also be held Sunday afternoon.

12:00 PM

Coffee + Beer Education w. Real Ale Brewer Erik Ogershok @Wright Bros. Brew & Brew

Real Ale Head Brewer Erik Ogershok is going to host a discussion on his philosophy on coffee, beer and when the two shall meet. The renowned Real Ale Coffee Porter is a hallmark of the style, and you can learn about the development of this beer and some of the processes that go into making it each year. There will be a short Q&A after the talk, then we can have some fun pairing up coffee, beer and coffee-beer. Of course, this is Wright Bros. Brew and Brew, so coffee, beer and coffee-beer are all available before, during and after the discussion. Remember to be responsible and caffeinate before you party.

12:00 PM

(512) 6th Anniversary Party @512 Brewing

A highlight of Austin Beer Week, come celebrate with the (512) Brewing staff on turning 6 years old — that’s right, 6 years of making great, fresh local beers. We’ll have lots of rare beers and casks we’ve saved up just for this event. Food trailers, arts and craft vendors, and local live music. Tickets $10.00 per person.

Take a tour of Adelbert’s Brewery and sample beer fresh from the source. No reservations needed. Tours at approx. 1:45pm and approx. every 45 minutes after. Food trucks are on hand, with a TV, darts, foosball and A/C inside, and several picnic tables under our hand-built pergola outside. Kids welcome. Dogs welcome outside. If you have a glass from us, feel free to bring it with you for us to fill for $2 off! See our social media for updates on food trucks and any special beers being poured.

Draught House 46th Anniversary Party @Draught House

Great lineup of beers, House DJ JBL, pig roast from East Side Kings, live music, and more.

Infamous Brewing Open House @Infamous Brewing

We built our initial brewhouse from the ground up. We also couldn’t afford a shiny new system without asking other people to pay for it. So piece by piece and part by part over a nine month period, we built the system that we are currently brewing on. Come take a look – it’s pretty cool what a few dudes, nine months and a bunch of beer can do! Kid & Dog Friendly. Live Music & Food Trucks.
