National Independent Beer Run Day kicks off again this year on July 3rd.

“Ahead of summer’s biggest holiday, Independence Day, the Brewers Association—the not-for-profit trade association dedicated to small and independent American brewers— is coordinating the second annual National Independent Beer Run Day alongside craft breweries nationwide,” per the press release.

At a time when Austin area breweries have been hit hard by the effects of the novel coronavirus and there is a looming possibility of another citywide shutdown, it’s important now more than ever to get out and support your favorite local breweries. Plus, we know all you beer lovers want to stock up ahead of the busy holiday weekend!

How? Well as of the date of this post, you have three options:

  1. Visit a brewery that is allowed to remain open for onsite consumption at this time (see the list here).

  2. Order curbside pick-up from one of these breweries.

  3. Make a beer run and purchase independent craft beer from one of these local bottleshops.

As the Texas Craft Brewers Guild fights hard for the rights of your local brewery, including noting they do NOT operate like other bars around town, there is concern that many of your favorite breweries won’t weather the storm. Sign the petition HERE to call for change!

Also, feel free to grab these cool graphics to spice up your photos! And if you are so inclined, make a donation to the Believe in Beer fund or any other local support fund.

According to the Brewers Association, “craft breweries are community-minded small businesses who merit and need support, and drinking beer made by an independent brewer is important to 58% of craft drinkers and an estimated 60 million adult Americans1. There is no better time– or easier way– for beer-lovers to show their support.” ⁣

UPDATE: the Texas Craft Brewers Guild is also doing an Instagram GIVEAWAY!
