Now Open In Pflugerville – Idle Vine Brewing

Located at 16920 Joe Barbee Dr., Bldg 1 Pflugerville, TX

Pflugerville will get’s it’s second brewery with the opening of Idle Vine Brewing Co. in a brand new warehouse district conveniently located near I-35 between Austin and Round Rock.

Craft Beer Austin caught up with head brewer Scott Ciampa to discuss the latest developments with the brewery.

The team, consisting of co-founders  Todd Wink, Scott Ciampa and Brian Bristow, had originally planned to establish their roots in Cedar Park earlier this year.  When those plans fell through, they embarked on a year-long search and finally landed a new spot on the edge of Pflugerville.

The results of their efforts paid off. The new space is just under 6,000 square feet and will house a 30BBL brewhouse, an expansive taproom that will be open seven days a week, and enough outdoor space to host weekend events. The brewery will be kid friendly, dog-friendly and have all the bells and whistles you would expect from a new taproom, like TVs and WiFi. Once open, the brewery will house five 60BBL fermenters and one 60BBL brite tank with plans to expand capacity.

Which naturally brings us to the beers. Twelve taps will be available to include the core four, a quarterly seasonal and special releases that will only be available in the taproom. A pale ale, IPA, session ale and a porter round out the core four with a heffe, pilz, red ale and oatmeal stout rounding out the seasonal line up. Kegs will be available around town featuring the core four plus the seasonal, and there some big plans for a creative line-up of bottle releases that include partnerships with local artists.

Pending the typical state approvals, Idle Vine Brewing Co. is hoping to open in early fall.  Stay tuned to Craft Beer Austin for upcoming events and details on the ‘secret’ collectors bottle release.  Follow Idle Vine Brewing Co. on Twitter and Facebook for the latest updates.
