Celebrate Pierre’s Birthday at Celis Brewery This Weekend
Celis Brewery is located at 10001 Metric Blvd, Austin, TX
Every year, the brewery celebrates founder and Belgian brewing legend Pierre Celis, who is credited with bringing the Belgian-style witbier to Austin. This year marks what would have been his 101st birthday, and the team is celebrating in style with special beer releases and live music.
Making the celebration even more special, Christine Celis, Pierre’s daughter and brewery co-founder, has rejoined the team. “Returning to Celis Brewery is deeply meaningful to me,” said Christine Celis. “Continuing my father’s legacy and reconnecting with our community feels like coming home. We’re focused on honoring our traditions while building an exciting future.”
Two industry veterans have also joined in recent months. Marco Rodriguez, one of the original founders of Zilker Brewing Company, came aboard as brewmaster in June. He has gone deep into the original Celis records to ensure the heritage beers hold up to their 1990s reputation, while also developing new beers to keep the lineup fresh. Tony Dianora joined in 2025 as director of sales, bringing more than a decade of craft beer experience, including time at Shiner and (512) Brewing.
Come join the annual celebration of Pierre’s birthday this Saturday at Celis Brewery. Entry is free from 1-5 pm, or VIP tickets are available and include:
