For the past three years, the Pink Boots Society Austin Chapter, currently led by Jill Paluch and Felica Reninger, hosted a record number of collaboration brew days with twenty-six breweries signing up to do a collaboration beer last year. This year, record brew days are again in full effect, with new beer released almost weekly. These beers will only be available for a short time, so get out there and order one today while supplies last!

In our Blushing Bines IPA, the hops are the star of the show.” – Clare Hulama, Co-owner, and Assistant Brewer

Bold Republic’s 5th annual Pink Boots Society collaboration “Womens Work!” uses the 6th annual Pink Boots Blend of hops from Yakima Chief Hops. “This hoppy lager has strong notes of citrus and mango with a clean, crisp finish allowed by the cold lagering process. Brewed by the women and friends of Bold Republic Brewing Company on March 8 in observance of International Women’s Day. Proceeds go towards funding the Pink Boots Austin chapter that empowers women in the brewing industry in Central Texas, ” per their social media.

Celis Brewery | Pinky Promise | Double IPA

We are so excited to release another collaboration beer for the incredible worldwide Pink Boots Society annual brew day on International Women’s day! I am proud to be a part of it as a woman and as a brewer. Seeing so many different styles of beer with the usage of the same hop blend makes me happy to see the creativity! Our Double IPA is incredibly sneaky, it truly tastes like an introduction DIPA. We pinky promise to continue to brew the best craft beer we can and always to wear pink on Wednesdays. Cheers! – Daytona Camps, brewer, and brand ambassador

Central Machine Works Brewery | French Saison

French Saison around 6.3%, using the Pink Boots 2022 Blend from Yakima Chief Hops, and a French Saison Yeast from our local friends and also PBS member Community Cultures Yeast Lab in San Antonio. The grain bill will consist of mostly pilsner and a touch Munich malt for color/character, as well as oats to add body to the beer without allowing too much banana flavored compounds from the yeast. Fruity, herbal, and with notes of black pepper.

Ghost Note Brewing | Warrior Princess | Kolsch style and Neighborwood | Dry Hopped Farmhouse Ale

“Introducing Warrior Princess Pink Boots Kolsch 5.1 ABV 24 IBU. Back on March 8th the ladies of Ghost Note along with @craftprideaustin teamed up for this year’s @pinkbootssociety brew day. We brewed a Kolsch-style beer which is a classic German style that is a hybrid between an Ale and a Lager. We utilized the Pink Boots blend of hops from @YakimaChief in the boil, whirlpool, and dry-hop. Expect an aromatic and flavorful riff on the style that maintains the light and easy-drinking crispness of a traditional Kolsch with the aromatic punch from the additional hops. We get aromas of lemongrass, cantaloupe, and bubblegum with a cracker-like malt character and a quenchingly crisp finish. We are proud of our partnership with @pinkbootssociety and love that we can contribute to their scholarship program through this year’s collaboration Beer, Warrior Princess.

Neighborwood: Pink Boots Dry-hopped Farmhouse Beer 7.8 ABV 18 IBU. For this batch of Neighborwood, our Foeder-aged mixed culture farmhouse beer, we dry-hopped it with the 2023 Pink Boots hop blend from @yakimachief hops. The base beer’s dry finish is softened by the hop oils and the rustic funk from the mixed culture is punched up with aromas of pineapple and honeydew melon.” per social media

Humble Pint Brewing | Velvet Valkyrie | IPA

“The “Valkyrie” were the choosers of the slain. They rode horses, boars or wolves – armored and carrying spears – to choose who qualified for a ticket to Valhalla in a coming battle. That’s a pretty bad-ass job description for some very bad-ass ladies and while we have a lot less slaying, and almost no wild animals ridden around the taproom, Humble Pint is lucky to have some bad-ass ladies on staff again this year! Lily and Alicia (with a little help from Jared) brewed this beer as part of the annual Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day (held on International Women’s Day).

VELVET VALKYRIE 2.0 is a mostly bright IPA made with base malt, pilsner, and a modest addition of white wheat malt added to the mix. This year’s recipe features a more classic, ultra-clean finishing IPA formulation – a bit more assertively bitter than last year’s hazy – which highlights the flavors of the 2023 YCH Pink Boots hop blend. Grapefruit, tangerine, and other citrus flavors and aromas initially dominate, with mild floral and earth tones appearing on the back end. Send your tongue to Valhalla with a VELVET VALKYRIE 2.0 while we send a portion of the proceeds from your purchase to the Pink Boots Society Austin Chapter, so they can continue providing scholarships for more bad-ass women in the brewing industry!” per social media.

Independence Brewing Co. | Highbory Pink Boots Blend | Double IPA

Infamous Brewing Company | Sally Skull | India Pale Lager

“For one we have more women than men working at Infamous. The ladies keep us in check so we don’t get too carried away with boyish tomfoolery. Really, it’s a great opportunity to try new blends of hops created by the women of craft beer and to create new recipes that would otherwise be outside of our wheelhouse. The best part for me is to get the ladies more involved in the brewhouse process side of beer, it’s always a fun time with lots of beer and laughter.” – Josh Horowitz, Owner

Live Oak Brewing | Pink Pils

“We’re very eager to take this opportunity to support the current and future women in our industry. With this collaboration, we get to take the efforts of the Pink Boots Society and showcase them in this beer. They’ve made it easy for us to spend time, learn, teach, and give back; and we’re happy to participate. Pink Pils is a hop-forward pilsner that involves a very American mashing method, corn grit cereal mash. It is something we were very excited to learn about and enjoy passing on. The light malt flavor and brite final product will really highlight the Pink Boots hop blend in a clean and delicate way.” – Dusan Kwiatkowski, Head Brewer

Meanwhile Brewing Co. | Open Arms | Hefeweizen

“Each year, Pink Boots puts on a collaboration brew day in celebration of the women and non-binary individuals within the industry. All participating breweries develop a unique recipe with the selected Pink Boots hop blend. Given the significance of this organization and beer, we decided to brew something previously un-brewed at Meanwhile and venture into the unknown with a Hefeweizen! With the addition of juicy passionfruit to this classic banana and clove beer, you’ll easily embrace this beer with open arms,” per social media.

Nomadic Beerworks | Mystic Moon | Lemon Blonde Ale | 4.5 % ABV

Brewed with Pea Flower for a bright Purple hue! with a touch of lemon.

Brewed on National Women’s Day at two of our facilities, this beer is designed to highlight the 2020 crop of the Pink Boots Blend from Yakima Chief Hops. A highly drinkable juicy beer with huge notes of ripe guava, pineapple, and mango. “Brewing is rarely seen as a career path by women. There are so many diverse possibilities between brewing, packaging, and quality control. We hope exposing some of this through the invitation to all of our female staff helps bring light to the possibilities within our industry. It is also a great opportunity for all of the females who work on our front of house staff to feel engaged and confident about our beers – understanding the process is everything.” – Kristin Hanks, Production and Hospitality
