Welcome to the third edition of The Best Beers of the Year (So Far). Since the previous edition, we’ve released a few spin offs – Style Breakdown: Pilsners, and Best Beers at TCBF (expect more festival based articles in the future, and style breakdowns during lulls of other newsworthy content). All of these articles are using Untappd data to determine the highest rated beers, and we want to remind you again that this data is full of crowdsourced opinions – don’t take it too seriously. While I always check the cider, mead, and seltzer lists, generally most of these don’t gather the required 10 ratings to generate an average – or if they do, the rating is fairly low. This time though, there are three that deserve recognition:
