Each year, women from the Pink Boots Society (PBS) collaborate with Yakima Cheif Hops (YCH) to select the annual blend recipe. For the 7th annual blend, YCH sent virtual selection kits to PBS chapters across the globe and then hosted the final hop rub at the Great American Beer Festival.
The 7th Annual Pink Boots Blend consists of HBC 638, Ahtanum®, El Dorado®, and Idaho 7® and quantities are limited, so pre-order by December 15 to receive your hops at the start of the new year.
“We are anticipating strong berry, orange, and stone fruit notes accompanied by herbal undertones,” says Yakima
Chief Hops’ Senior Sensory Manager, Tiffany Pitra. “We’re all excited to see this complex blend expressed across a
wide range of styles”.
YCH will donate $3 from each pound sold of the Pink Boots Blend directly to PBS, helping them to further their mission to assist, inspire, and encourage the professional development and education of women and non-binary individuals in the industry. The deadline to submit orders is December 15th, allowing time to process and ship the blend before International Women’s Day on March 8th.
Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day
The Pink Boots Society invites breweries and other fermented beverage makers to join the industry-wide movement of empowering women and non-binary individuals in the fermented/alcoholic beverage industry by hosting a Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day! Each year, on or around International Women’s Day, breweries worldwide host their own celebratory collaboration brew days using the blend and release the beverages throughout the year.
