TABC Updates
These label approvals cover most of April. It seems like the shelter in place has not slowed down the TABC as far as putting out label approvals, and approving brewpubs. A couple of new breweries are getting their first approvals – like Hold Out Brewing in Austin, along with some new out of state breweries getting their first approvals – like Maine Beer Company. Recent Brewery Approvals: Note: I have only been putting new brewery […]
Read MoreWhat better time to jump-start the TABC label approval post than when being stuck at home during quarantine? So, I had to start somewhere, which in this case, is from the beginning of March to now. Note: due to the number of label approvals coming in now, I am turning the focus of this more onto local beers, and more interesting out of state ones. There are just too many beers coming in now that […]

Read MoreThe main bit of news over the last week is that Texas is one step closer to allowing beer-to-go sales from breweries. The battle now will come from the senate, which “should” be easier to get past than the house. But, this is Texas, so no one really knows. That should happen in a week or two. This week’s TABC Label Approvals: K = Keg B = Large format bottle bb = 16oz format bottle […]

Read MoreThe legislative battle over beer-to-go sales from breweries may be slowing down thanks to simple donations from specific distributors to specific people in charge. It is amazing how a little money can make someone not pass laws that actually help the small businesses of the state. You can read more about that here and who is the latest person that the distributors paid off (spoiler: it is Kelly Hancock of North Richland Hills for $33k): […]
